Zapraszamy 14 kwietnia w godzinach 13:30-15:00 w auli S204 na wykład Stijna Oosterlyncka “Solidarities across cultural difference: grounding solidarity-building in place and practice”
opis wykładu:
Radical right populist forces are increasingly successful in capturing the notion of solidarity. They are not rejecting welfare and other solidarities per se, but aim to restrict it to an in-group defined in ethnic-cultural or racialized terms. From a different perspective, notably decolonial and feminist authors are questioning the universalistic pretensions of actually existing solidarities. In this lecture, I argue that solidarity is as relevant than ever, but that its spatial and temporal framing needs to be rethought to accommodate for the migration-related diversity in today’s societies. I call for a focus on solidarity-building in urban places and everyday practices to overcome the exclusions generated by solidarities embedded in the intergenerational continuity of imagined culturally homogeneous nation-states.
